Robert Smith, a man in his forties, claims to be the most unlucky person in the world. He has always failed all kinds of tests and exams at school and during his career as a lawyer, but he says he is in fact a well-educated and studious person. When he was in his twenties, he tried several times to become a law student, and was eventually admitted at eight time. He has been married and divorced three times already. He has tried to pass his driving licence test eleven times, but each time failed his theory test. What is the reason for his bad luck? A theory test not the most complicated examination in the world, and Robert is certainly able to remember all road signs and understand driving rules. He is also considered a professional by his colleagues at work, but whenever his expertise is tested, he suddenly forgets all he has learned. His friends say he simply lacks the knowledge of certain test taking strategies. Thats one explanation of his constant failures. His parents always tell him to try to relax. They say he always becomes tense in difficult situations. But Robert believes hes simply extremely unlucky and thats why hell never remarry, be promoted at work, or pass his theory test and get a driving licence. Well, if he thinks he cant, he wont, and nobody can do anything to persuade him.
